What Is the Memory Capacity of the Human Brain?

This question may take many years to be answered, if it’s ever done. Our brain processes information in a way that is very different from regular com...puters.
We’re only just starting to understand how it stores memories and how these memories are linked together.
Many people tried to make estimates about how it would compare to a computer, but This would be near impossible to calculate until such a time as man can create biological computers of our own and have a better idea how they work.
The human brain contains about 50 billion to 200 billion neurons (nobody knows how many for sure), each of which interfaces with 1,000 to 100,000 other neurons through 100 trillion (10 14) to 10 quadrillion (10 16) synaptic junctions.
Neurons combine so that each one helps with many memories at a time, exponentially increasing the brain’s memory storage capacity to something closer to around 2.5 petabytes (or a million gigabytes ).
For comparison, if your brain worked like a digital video recorder in a television, 2.5 petabytes would be enough to hold three million hours of TV shows. You would have to leave the TV running continuously for more than 300 years to use up all that storage.
The human brain has near-instant data recall time, far faster than that of the fastest computer memory… though this recall time slows with such things as mental acuity, age, etc. These factors also reduce the reliability of biological memory.
But apart from all above facts , there is another interesting issue about the brain. It is about finding out the computational speed of the human brain in GHz, though this would probably vary from one individual to the next as well.
It is still a question whether our brains and our computers will ever be able to interface in any major ways?
It’d be fun to be able to record our dreams as mpgs format somewhere to watch whenever we want. Or better yet, copy mpgs files to our brain to dream them instead of making up a dream !!!ادامه ...
